The Writing Salon

As the Design Lead for an adult creative writing school, I redesigned our brand identity, website, and created marketing materials for social media and newsletters from 2017 to 2021.

Branding

The Writing Salon believes that study of the craft of writing should be open to everyone. It offers classes at many levels and genres to anyone that wants to write with an individual focus and attention. The use of iconic banker’s lamp shape suggests this intimate, focused and illuminating source.

Website Design

After the new brand identity work in 2017, it was time to bring the Writing Salon’s brand to life online. Inviting, clean and vibrant new website design helped the school to increase enrollment by %41 in 2018.

In 2022, the aftermath of the pandemic, our enrollment numbers witnessed a decline. User surveys, Google Analytics, and heatmap results also revealed that our website's design appeared outdated and, failing to elevate upcoming classes. The navigation system also required a revamp to accommodate the new offerings and improve access to the member login portal. In our latest design, we retained the use of bold shapes, vibrant accent colors, and strong typography—signature elements that define our brand. However, we infused a breath of fresh air by using illustrative imagery and rounded buttons and icons to create a more inviting and user-friendly experience. The new website development is in progress.

Marketing Design

2019 to 2021, I designed marketing collaterals that was used in social media and newsletters to promote classes, events and awards.
